Books

This post was written on Sunday, hence the thing about going to church in the morning.

This evening I was trying to think of something to blog about.
Today? We went to church, came home, ate lunch, and played games most of the afternoon and evening. As I write this post, there is an energetic game of tag being played.
       Nah, that's just a normal-day occurrence.

So, I decided to ask google what I should blog about. blogtyrant.com gave lots of suggestions:

Hobbies!
Favorite jokes.
Persuasive posts about controversial subjects.
Places I want to visit.
Where I want to be in life in 5 years.
Favorite festival or holiday and why.
The list had 87 ideas, I've attached the link above if you would like to read the rest for yourself.

Near the bottom of the list, I found an idea that seemed a little bit interesting:

#4 Show what’s in your bag, your fridge, your wardrobe, or on your bookshelf.

So, my bookshelf. It was given as a birthday gift from my parents about the time I turned 12.

The 2 dolls on the left are dolls that I collected around the ages of 9-12. The doll on the right belongs to Martina.
The books that I've read most recently are on the second self. A lot of them are TGS publications, old classic such as Anne of Green Gables and other books that one way or another came into our possession.

I selected 3 books from this shelf; I hesitate to say that they are my favorites, because I really enjoy reading any good book.

Feminine Beauty* from BMA publications:

How can a Christian woman display modesty in an attractive and feminine way? What principles can protect her from giving in to the pressure of culture? Evelyn Miller explores these questions and more in "Feminine Beauty as Displayed by Daughters of the King".
~ From the BMA website.

I just received the Angels and Heroes* book as a Christmas gift from Dad & Mom. I finished it last week. Its very interesting, but not all my siblings were impressed about some of the things that EMS personnel get to see.

Pollyanna*! The old classic that depicts the ways of playing the "glad game", the disgusting diseases that flies carry, and Pollyanna's escapes thru the windows, Pollyanna always make me laugh.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

Well folks, there you go! That's all I have to say (or maybe I should say write) about my books.

*As always, if your under the age of about 15, its always a wise decision to have a parent proof read a book before you dive in.

  1. Oh you have the Left Behind Series! What do you think of them? I haven't read them but I am interested in them.

    1. Sorry for the delayed response, Autumn! On the Left Behind Series, they can get a little bit on the "wild imagination side" of things, but I thought they were interesting. A few words of caution: one must always remember that the Left Behind Series are just somebody's guess at how the world will end. Let's be careful and not put more stock in somebody's imagination than the Bible.
